WAGS Events Diary

Wallingford Allotments and Gardens Society is upping its game and have planned a series of events for 2025/26!

Tuesday 24th February - Andy from Purely Plants will be inspiring us with his talk on seed sowing and planting techniques.  People who have been sowing seeds for years have come away from this talk with new methods to make their success rate even higher! It's also great to have a local horticulturalist visit us.

Tuesday 28th April - The AGM will be held at 7pm - if you feel able to support the committee, please email [email protected].
The meeting will be followed by a talk from Chris Bird.  Chris is the Horticultural Expert at Sparsholt College. He'll be talking about his 'RHS Chelsea Golden Experiences'.  This will surely inspire us for the spring and summer work in the garden.

Thursday 3rd December - Wreath making with Mel - watch out for booking details later in the year.

Previous Events

Thursday 4th December - Christmas Wreath making with Mel Belgrove-Jones.  Twenty of us enjoyed a great pre-Christmas evening making our wreaths under the instruction of Mel.  It was impressive to see the variety of wreaths that were all made with the same plants.  We're looking forward to running this again in 2026!

Tuesday 18th November 2025, we had a great evening with our speaker, Simon Booker, a local wildlife photographer. His passion and enthusiasm for local
wildlife was incredible, as was his stories which brought his stunning photos and videos to life.

Thank you Simon, for such an uplifting and informative evening and a big thank you to everyone who attended.

Braziers Park - Tuesday 15th July.  We had a rare opportunity to be shown around the beautiful, and highly productive, walled garden at Braziers Park.

On Friday June 20th 2025, we have booked a trip to RHS Wisley. We'll leave Wallingford at 9.30.  When we get to Wisley, we've booked a guided tour of the garden, you will then have free time before the coach leaves at 4pm to come home.  We still have a handful of tickets left on the trip.  If you are interested in joining WAGS and coming along please email [email protected].

This was a great day, with almost perfect weather!  See the gallery for photos.
